After I finished my first trip to New York, I had the chance to visit Milan for the first time as well. Even though I´m back in Italy for several times each year, it was going to be my first visit of the European fashion capitol.
By a happy coincidence, it was Men´s Fashion Week, so that I took the chance to get a sneak peak on some of the upcoming spring/summer collections from several of my favorite brands and designers. As always there were some collections I would love to show you.
Normally I´m the one who takes his followers on a journey around the globe. This time it was Prada that took me on a travel round trip. Inspired by the idea of the modern and urban traveler, Prada developed their inspiration of the previous collection further and combined it with other elements.
Colorful?? Yes!! Maybe some of you gonna be quite surprised now, because most think of a brand that is well known for it´s understatement combined with outstanding fabrics and perfect finishing. This time Miuccia Prada created a collection, that is adressed to young travelers that are encouraged enough to combine different colors and patterns.
It´s exactly this kind of happiness I try to transport to you with many of my colorful outfits. Just remember my yellow suit in Hong Kong or the red one in Berlin. Key pieces of Prada´s collection are tracking suits and sandals.
Finally, they created a backpacker that gives you the chance to organize your stuff while traveling in a way you haven’t been able to before. I know what I´m talking about after traveling 120000 km within 3 years. My second outstanding piece of the collection is the parka in different colors, made out of parachute material.
The collection fulfills today’s demand for functionality, economy, and modern design. Different checked patterns in various colors create an amazing contrast by highlighting the inner leg-length.
If I could choose which look to prefer, I would pick an outfit in different checks. The checked trouser in petrol is combined with a yellow inner leg-length and finished by a tender pastel pink and checked blazer. To put the cherry on the cake, Miuccia Prada added a checked shirt in different shades of red and sandals to the look.
To highlight the casual style it´s necessary to keep the top two buttons closed, while the two lower ones will provide you with a glimpse on what to wear under your blazer. Somehow Prada turned the worst case of combining different checked patterns into an upcoming trend.
According to this wonderful collection, I will try to ignore the cowboy like hats.
Even black found its way into the collection. From classic elegance to modern design you can pick your favorite pieces. Brogues combined by a colorful ribbon as well as turtleneck sweater create an opposite style to the lively and loud looks that were shown before.
I say yes and plan my next trip together with Prada.
You know, get outside of New York and a “cowboy-like” hat just might come in handy…
How ARE you? I’ve missed you like crazy. I thought you must have joined a traveling circus, and maybe you have: Look at that Prada! I am very, very busy with astrophysics and finishing up my second book (MUCH better than the first one). And I’m considering coming back to blogging next month, considering that I will have someone (Donald Trump) providing me with so much inspiration for the next four years!
Love you more!
