Sometimes Gemany is boring me and I feel wanderlust. In case of wanderlust going to Amsterdam for a few days is a fantastic idea. It´s the perfect destination for a spontaneous city trip with many hostels, endless attractions and water all around.
When I think about different cities, there are certain ones I link to good weather like Rome and Bangkok. Bad weather like storm and rain weigh heavily on my spirit on these places, not such as in Amsterdam. Dark clouds don´t bother me in Amsterdam. Furthermore this weather makes me feel quite comfortable and gives the city something like home. Maybe I feel that way, because this weather is similar to that in my hometown Hamburg.
From the main train station you already have an amazing view on the town center. Water and the ancient like trams as well as many different churches around welcome you and put a smile on the face of every tourist.
After leaving the main station my view always wanders to the left side to the Basilica of San Nicola. Constructed in 1884 this church is one of my favorite buildings in Amsterdam and an architectural highlight. The facade and the two towers in front of the main dome catches my eye every time again.
This time I arrived in Amsterdam while it was sunny, but a bit stormy and with a few clouds up in the sky, so that I decided to spent the first hours after arriving on the main station with my favorite view. These pictures were shot with my favorite view on the Basilica of San Nicola.
That day I was wearing my favorite denim blazer from a Fish named Fred, combined with grey trousers and burgundy coloured shoes.
