My last trip to Rio de Janeiro was quite spontanous. I missed the city, so that I booked a flight and came back here within two day. As I talked to my friends about it, they were laughing, because they used to call Rio my second home. Despite the fact that I have already climbed the Sugar Loaf several times, I always need to see the city from the top of the mountains whenever I´m back here.
The weather was wonderful that day and I´m thrilled that people call this season winter, even though it´s 30°C. So, I decided to wear a hat as well as my comfortable pair of Rivieras for this sunny day.
This time I decided to walk from Copacabana to the Sugar Loaf all by myself. Usuaally I take the bus, but I felt quite safe, so that I passed the main street along Copacabana and walked through a tunnel. It took me half an hour until I reached the basement of the Sugar Loaf to buy my ticket.
I was surprised, because it´s quite empty, so that I didn´t have to wait for the gondola to bring me to the top of the Sugar Loaf. We drove up quite fast and after a short time I had a wonderful view above the beaches of the city.
After arriving on top I was amazed by the beautiful view like each time. On the left side I saw all these world famous beaches and on the other side the Christo on top of the Corcovado.
Even though I was lost in thought, I heard a german voice speaking. First I wondered, but then I realized, that there was another german traveller beside me, enjoying the breathtaking view as well. We talked and found out, that we are both travelling alone and that our hostels are pretty close at Copacabana, so that we decided to conquer the city together for the next few days.

That looks spectacular! I can see why you had to go back. I have friends from Brazil who are always trying to get me to go there with them, but I never have. Maybe I’m inspired enough now. Maybe I should go just to get away from the election nonsense here!
Got your postcard! Thank you!!!! Are you in Hong Kong yet? As always, you look adorable. I am surprised that you have never been swept off your feet when you are traveling.
Beautiful classy as always 🙂 I like it!
