Hello from Hong Kong

Hello from Hong Kong 11

It´s hard for me to plan a trip far in advance. It´s too risky for me to have fixed plans because I prefer having new ideas or destinations in between. That´s why I love to keep a back door open in case of spontanous decicions.

It´s hilarious to see how my friends react when they see me booking a flight for two days later. Most of them prefer a fixed timetable that is already determined months in advance.

One of these spontaneous decicions is my trip to Hong Kong. I remember my stays in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore so that I reject all the pessimistic stories about Hong Kong being hectic and full and chose to to find out more about this city by myself.

Some of the things others find repellent kind of attract me. I just got to see it by myself and need to discover a city the way I do. Usually I refuse to pick a hotel in the middle of the city. This time I found a perfect one in Happy Valley. What could possibly go wrong when you live in a district with a name like that? I just love to discover a city using the public transport system.

Hong Kong welcomed me with 32°C and a humidity of 90% when I left the airplane. When I travel through Asia it normally takes two days for me to adapt to the different climate. I take the MTR into town and change to the TRAM to get to my hotel.

Hong Kong is crowded, loud, modern and well organized.Traditional markets with delicious food, the scenic view of the Pacific, which you can find 20 minutes outside of Hong Kong, and the breathtaking skyline of the Avenue of Stars make me realize how pretty the city is.

Enjoy the pictures and get the feeling of Hong Kong.

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! I was NOT prepared for Hong Kong to look like that. I miss China. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Try the street food. Not the centipedes, but the lotus root. SO good!
